It’s been a hot minute since I’ve shared anything in this space. But today is a big day! It’s time for my much anticipated Rebrand Reveal (and a pretty sweet giveaway)!
Between my kids getting out of school in February on account of COVID-19, the actual dealing withs of all things COVID-19 here in California, and a handful of my own spiritual and personal struggles—sharing and writing and connecting here hasn’t been at the top of my list.
As a web + graphic designer and photographer, my story is more than just sharing my heart and inspiration. For a long time (literally, like 12 years) I have struggled with trying to incorporate all facets of who I am into one location. I have designed, branded, rebranded, created new spaces, merged multiple spaces, designed again and eventually, just decided to throw in the towel on figuring it out. If you go back and look, most of what I shared in 2019 was minimal. 2020—circumstances aside—hasn’t been very different.
In July, a photographer who I’ve never met but whose work and online presence jumped off the screen at me launched a new website & brand. I knew that this was the thing that had been missing for me. It sounds ridiculous, but the perfectionist in me has a really hard time creating and designing and writing when I’m distracted by the physical appearance of things. I can’t get my work done efficiently if things around me are a mess; I can’t stand to scratch things out and I will start a handwritten letter over 50 times if my handwriting doesn’t look like I want it. No surprise that an unkempt online home would have the same impact on my writing.
After Maggie launched her site and revealed her new branding, my wheels started turning. I have been a fan and a follower of the With Grace & Gold team for years. I fell in love with their work early on and have loved watching their journey unfold. After doing some praying, discussing things with my husband, and battling a whole lot of doubt and uncertainty, I took the leap and hired them to rebrand my site and my business. Just as photographers hire out other photographers to capture their own family photos, I knew that in order to take my work and my business to the next level, I needed to take a major step and turn the designing over to someone else so I could focus on creating content.
It was time for a Facelift.
I am so happy to welcome you all to my new online space; a hub to direct all of you—my online supporters and friends—and potential business affiliates and clients to my various services.
A few new things that you will notice is that there’s a place for both my photography work and my design work, while still leaving plenty of room for my writing. There’s also a great new space for some Shop items that are releasing this year, including my first Showit template and two eBooks! The Andra & Kelly really went above and beyond and made the design experience seamless and enjoyable. Their creativity was such a breath of fresh air and I could not be happier with the way things turned out. Finally feeling confident and secure in my online branding has breathed new life into my creative soul. I can’t wait to share what God has been doing in my heart lately and see what the rest of 2020 holds!
But, what rebranding launch would be complete without a GIVEAWAY?!
